Nespresso Pop-up Store - A Millennial Truth

Graphic Design / Concepting / Branding / Storytelling / Experiential Design

Sad fact: Instead of saving money, millennials are spending a disproportionate amount of their income on expensive, in-store coffee. We designed a pop-up store Nespresso store to demonstrate how making coffee at home or work can help you save a ton of money for the important (and not-so-important) things in life.

A Money Machine!

Each day one person is selected and has the opportunity to go inside the machine, which contains the amount of money that you can save in a year by brewing Nespresso coffee at home/work. The participant has one minute to catch as much money as they can.

Interactive Screen

One of the key activations of this pop-up store is our interactive screen. Users see a clear message about the money they can save when they swap that store-bought drink for a home-brewed cup of coffee. The message is populated with specific items that the person can save for.

Customizable mugs

This message of “saving for something” is leveraged by a series of branded mugs that the user can customize with their own goals or items they want to save money for. The colors of the materials are inspired by the capsules used on the machine.

Reverse Pick-Pocketing

We wanted to make a statement about the surprising amount of money you can save over time if you buy a Nespresso. As a stunt, we would Reverse-pickpocket people in the streets leaving them with extra cash and a message from us.
